Art of Embedded Commands - Part 2

Dear Readers, We are continuing with the Topic of "Art of Embedded Commands" . In Todays session we will discuss few more things about it . How These Hidden Commands Effect and Manipulate our Brain.

Often, we don't even get a say in whether or not to be exposed to such ads. This is especially true online when we are engaged in routine practices like scrolling through social media feeds. Our data is compiled and sold to companies who then can design very specific ads and images that will prompt our desire to buy things in a way that the marketers already know we are susceptible to.

Online data has become a very hot-button issue in recent years, and the arguments about the morality of online marketing and "Fake news" in the form of ads on social media are particularly under fire, mainly for influencing people's behavior around political elections.

These ads worked to target viewer's psychological responses to things that their data has told marketers and ad designers will work on specific individuals. The ads are often visually assaulting and are designed to trigger emotional responses that will then feed into the desired behavior targeted by the ad, such as, "vote for me", "the competition is a bad person," etc.

While the viewer feels as if she is thinking and making decisions of her own volition, there is a level of covert mind control that has a lot more influence on our sensibilities than most are willing to admit. And again, this is where the main weaknesses are embedded.

Convince the public that they are making rational decisions while they are being manipulated, and you have a very powerful mechanism for effective dark psychology.

The same questions arise from the realization of these kinds of covert practices at work. How can we recognize when dark psychology is being used, and what can we do to protect ourselves?

Similar to other best practices outlined in this whole article, one of the best ways to avoid being taken advantage of in these contexts is to stay aware of the possibility that the information you are receiving is one-sided.

Do your own research and find out if all the facts are being included in the stories you regularly see on your social media feeds. Also, make sure you know all facets to be known before formulating an opinion. Online marketing, especially in the political arena, has been noted to target those who seem more "on the fence" than others.

These people make up lots of populations in swing states where the political vote has been known to swing back and forth by a relatively small margin at different points in time. During the 2016 election, it was these specific areas of interest in swing states which the Trump campaign ad team was able to target with social media ads attacking Hillary Clinton and inciting attitudes nearing that of hatred against her.

These tactics have been cited in recent years as one of the leading factors contributing to Trump's Presidential victory that year.

So, Dear Readers the Next Topic of this Chapter we will be Covering is.
